Short Getaway to Hatyai, Thailand: Double Couples Trip

On 30th March 2017, my one week mid semester break started and I flew back to KL and spent time with my family. I was supposed to go back to uni on the 8th of April but I only bought one-way air ticket back to KL. I forgot to buy the air tix back to Kedah and as time goes by, the price rocketed so I had to purchase the the air tix two days earlier, which was on the 6th of April. The night before I went back to Kedah, Mr 182 asked me whether wanna join his two friends, which are couple, to go to Hatyai and I agreed to go. One week earlier, that was my first time meeting his friends. We went for Beauty and the Beast, but I never got the chance to speak to his friends as we all went back after the movie. I was quite nervous when I got the message from him, asking me whether wanna spend a night with his friends in Hatyai. Anyhow, I was quite happy at the same time cuz it's like finally he let me step into his circle of friends (It's not that he didn't wanna introduce his friends to me but there was no good opportunity).

On 6th April, I took the Airasia flight and flew to Kedah. My heart melted when I receive a text from him, saying that he is waiting me outside the arrival hall. I felt touched and happy cuz he has never let me waited him alone. We back to his house and took a quick rest. Unfortunately, the water supply in his house area had been turned off for reparation of the water pipes system. I only got to take a quick bath without washing my hair. Owhhh gosh! I felt so uncomfortable to meet his friends with the oily hair.

We departed at around 6.30pm. We took a van to Hatyai from Dannok and the journey was about 1 hour (We spent about 30 mins waiting for the van). After getting down from the van, we checked in hotel at Lee Gardens Hotel and then we had dinner nearby the hotel. We walked around the area after dinner then we went back to hotel and rest. We were exhausted.

The next morning, we walked around Lee Gardens area and we had the famous Pork Leg on Rice as breakfast.

After we checked out the hotel, we went to Central Festival Mall by taking TukTuk. Bought a new shade outside the mall with 150baht and 3 nail colours with only 100baht. It's only 100baht! Love the nude shades of nail painter so much! It was my first time trying the Thailand Teh too. It smells so good and rich! We walked around the mall and had our lunch there. When we were going to move to another tourist spot, unfortunately, it rained. We all felt so uncomfortable in the TukTuk as our body started to feel the stickiness and it was so suffocating inside the TukTuk cuz the driver curtained up the vehicle due to raining. It was my first visit to Klonghae Floating Market. It was out of my expectation. Our experience in this place got even worsen when the sky started to rain like dogs and cats. We were trapped at there. I didn't get to utilise my new shade too! We only bought one big umbrella and four of us walked closely to each other, like playing the romance scene. Anyhow, this pulled the friendship closer.

Our last station in Hatyai was the Asean Trade Bazaar. The clothes were cheaply sold at there! It's kinda heaven for young girls! I wanted to buy a lot of outfits there, especially their short jeans pants and ripped jeans and also their cap but I got to hold my urge and save money as I am going to Bangkok in the coming August! They said the clothes there are even cheaper and nicer compared to Hatyai. I was quite amazed by my ability to hold the urges of buying stuffs in Hatyai tho. LOL!

The rain did not stop for us when we wanted to walk to the van station. The tuktuk driver also did not show us any kindness but he even wanted to ask for ridiculous price for less than 2 mins drive (it only took us about 3 mins to WALK to the van station). So, we played the romance scene one more time, two pairs of couples walking under one huge umbrella under the rain. LOL! The van service there was better than Dannok. It took less than 10 mins to depart. After one hour, we arrived Dannok. We sat outside the Mc Donalds and waited another couple to come and join us for dinner. We went to KPK and had dinner nearby the lake. About 11.30pm, we finally got out from Thailand and went back to Jitra.

After all, I wouldn't say this trip was bad experience (due to rain). I actually enjoyed the time spent with Mr 182 and his friends. They are really friendly and funny! I felt comfortable spending time with them. It was so much better than what I have thought and imagined earlier. I scared that we might be awkward but fortunately there were no much awkwardness during the trip. We talked and we laughed. This short getaway was indeed a great start of stepping into Mr 182's circle of friends.

So now what? It's time to back to the annoying assignment loaded life in UUM. I look forward to the next trip with my Mr 182. ❤️
